Will Bates is composing the music for the upcoming coming-of-age drama Hot Summer Nights. The film is written and directed by Elijah Bynum and stars Maika Monroe, Thomas Jane, Maia Mitchell, Emory Cohen, Timothee Chalamet, Alex Roe and William Fichtner. The movie follows a teenager whose life spirals out of control when he befriends the town rebel, falls in love, and gets entangled in a drug ring all during one hot, stormy summer. Bradley Thomas (There’s Something Wrong About Marry, Me, Myself & Irene, Shallow Hal) and Dan Friedkin are producing the project for Imperative Entertainment. Hot Summer Nights is expected to premiere in 2017.
Bates also continues to score Hulu’s The Path and Chance, as well as CBS’ Pure Genius.
