Eric Neveux is currently recording his music for the upcoming animated feature Richard the Stork. The film is directed by Toby Genkel & Reza Memari (All Creatures Big and Small) and follows a sparrow who was orphaned at birth and raised by storks and learns about his true identity when his storks family plans to migrate to Africa. Kristine M.I. Knudsen (Mercy) is producing the project for Knudsen & Streuber Medienmanufaktur, alongside Ulysses Filmproduktion and Senator Film München, as well as Belgium’s Walking the Dog, Luxembourg’s Melusine Productions and Norway’s Den siste skilling. The music is being recorded with the Brussels Philharmonic at Galaxy Studios NV in Mol, Belgium. Richard the Stork will be released internationally in early 2017. No domestic distribution deal has been set yet.
The composer whose previous scoring credits include Intimacy, Hideaways, Borgia, The Attack, Two Men in Town and Nicholas on Holiday also has the French drama Cezanne and I (Cezanne et moi) starring Guillaume Canet coming up. The film will be released in France on September 21. He also scored the French thriller Wùlu directed by Daouda Coulibaly. The movie, which follows a low-level transit worker turned drug trafficker, whose rapid ascent in Bamako’s criminal underworld entangles him with the military, the government, and eventually al-Qaeda, will have its international premiere later this month at the Toronto Film Festival.
