George Kallis is set to compose the music for the upcoming family drama And Then There Was Light. The film is written and directed by Castille Landon and stars Amy Smart, Burt Reynolds, Jack Griffo and AJ Michalka. The movie centers on a young girl who struggles after a traumatic horse riding accident causes her to lose her eyesight and is introduced to Apple, a miniature horse as her companion and surrogate eyes. Dori Rath (Sex Ed, Among Ravens) and Joseph Restaino are producing the project. And Then There Was Light is currently in post-production. No release date has been announced yet.
Kallis has previously collaborated with Landon and the producers on the upcoming family adventure Albion: The Enchanted Stallion. The film features the voices of Daniel Sharman, Liam McIntyre, Debra Messing, Jennifer Morrison, Stephen Dorff and John Cleese. The movie centers on a 12-year-old girl who is transported by a magical black stallion to the mystical world of ALBION, where she discovers that she alone is the key to saving an entire race of people. The composer recently recorded his orchestral score in Budapest. A release later this year is expected.
Kallis also recently recorded his score for the upcoming drama 93 Days with a 90-piece orchestra. The film is directed by Steve Gukas and stars Bimbo Akintola, Danny Glover and Bimbo Manuel. The movie revolves around Nigeria’s battle against Ebola and is expected to premiere later this year. The composer’s other upcoming projects also include the horror thriller Behind the Wall directed by James & Jon Kondelik and the historical drama The Black Prince directed by Kavi Raz.
