David Hirschfelder is scoring the upcoming comedy drama A Street Cat Named Bob. The film is directed by Roger Spottiswoode (Tomorrow Never Dies, Turner & Hooch, The 6th Day) and stars Luke Treadaway, Ruta Gedmintas, Joanne Froggatt and Anthony Head. The movie is based on James Bowen’s bestselling novel and tells the true story of the unlikely friendship between a young homeless busker and a stray ginger cat named Bob who changed his life. Tim John (Dr. Jekyll and Ms. Hyde) and Maria Nation have written the screenplay. Adam Rolston is producing the project. Hirschfelder’s previous scoring credits include Elizabeth, Shine, Australia, The Railway Man and The Water Diviner. A Street Cat Named Bob is expected to premiere later this year.
