Gaumont will release a soundtrack album for the French drama Chocolat. The album features the film’s original music composed by Academy Award winner Gabriel Yared (The English Patient, The Talented Mr. Ripley, 1408, Cold Mountain). The soundtrack will be released digitally on January 29, 2016 and is now available for pre-order on Amazon, where you can also listen to audio samples. A CD version is also being released by Quartet Records. Chocolat is directed by actor Roschdy Zem and stars Omar Sy, James Thierree and Clothilde Hesme. The movie tells the life story of Padilla aka Chocolat, who became the first black artist to appear on a French stage in the 19th century and centers around his lifelong friendship with a white artist nicknamed Footit. The biographical drama will be released in France on February 3 and in other European markets over the next couple of months. No word yet on a domestic release.
