Premiering tomorrow, March 9, is the A&E original series The Returned created by Carlton Cuse & Raelle Tucker based on the French series Les Revenants and starring Mark Pellegrino, Tandi Wright, India Ennenga, Sophie Lowe, Mary Elizabeth Winstead, Jeremy Sisto, Kevin Alejandro, Agnes Bruckner and Sandrine Holt. The show’s original music is composed by Jeff Russo (Fargo, CSI: Cyber, Power) and cellist Zoe Keating. The Returned is set in a small town that is turned upside down when several local people who have been long presumed dead suddenly reappear. The drama will air every Monday night on A&E. Premiering on Tuesday, March 10, on the PlayStation Network is the mini-series Powers executive produced by Brian Michael Bendis, Charlie Huston, Remi Aubuchon, Michael Avon Oeming, Michael Dinner & David Engel and starring Sharlto Copley, Michelle Forbes, Eddie Izzard and Susan Heyward. Jeff Rona (White Squall, Chicago Hope, Dominion) is composing the show’s original music. Powers is based on the graphic novel of the same title and follows the the lives of two homicide detectives who are assigned to investigate cases involving people with superhuman abilities, referred to as “Powers”. Missing from last week’s TV music roundup was the new CBS drama Battle Creek created by Vince Gilligan & David Shore and starring Josh Duhamel, Dean Winters, Janet McTeer, Kal Penn, Edward Fordham Jr. and Aubrey Dollar. John Ottman (The Usual Suspects, X2, X-Men: Days of Future Past, Superman Returns) has scored the Bryan Singer-directed pilot episode. John McCarthy (Due South) and Jeff Russo (Fargo) are scoring the following episodes. Battle Creek follows a nice-guy FBI special agent from Detroit who teams with a tough, impatient police detective to clean up the semi-mean streets of Battle Creek, Michigan.
