Jon Ehrlich is composing the music for the upcoming NBC mini-series The Slap. The 8-parter is directed by Lisa Cholodenko (The Kids Are All Right, Olive Kitteridge) and stars Peter Saarsgard, Thandie Newton, Uma Thurman, Zachary Quinto, Melissa George, Thomas Sadoski and Brian Cox. The drama is based on the book by Christos Tsiolkas and the Australian television series of the same title and centers on a once happy family that suddenly begins to fall apart following a seemingly minor incident in which a man slaps another couple’s misbehaving child. Jon Robin Baitz (Brothers & Sisters) has written the pilot’s script and is also executive producing the Universal Television and Matchbox Pictures production with Walter F. Parkes & Laurie MacDonald (Men in Black, Minority Report, Catch Me if You Can). Ehrlich’s previous scoring credits include such shows as House, USA’s White Collar and NBC’s Parenthood and About a Boy. i would love to have the title of the song ending Anouk’s episode. All of the songs if possible. Is there a soundtrack possibly?
Concerning the episode “Connie”….I would love to know the song at end that is acoustic and starts off “I want to tell you a story”… written by Connie’s dad before he died. I can’t find it anywhere?

I’ve spent 4 hours trying to find that song. I’ve concluded it’s the same one on the Australian soundtrack: Richie Theme Pt 1. – David McCormack, Gabriel Winterfield & Jono Ma. I could be wrong but im pretty sure im right.

I’m hoping that if the Jazz (played in both background and foreground) is something conjured up for the specific episode (Ep 2), that they have enough sense to make a CD of the entire production, which I will buy! I sort of thought Glee! would be one to own (I think they put one out each season); also, Nashville would be fantastic, but I haven’t gotten around to getting either. This music is weirdly memorable, and rather haunts me. I would DEFINITELY buy a CD of this show’s music. Are you listening, NBC?
