Epicleff Media has announced the Kickstarter launch to raise funds to finish SCORE: A Film Music Documentary, a film that will feature A-list composers such as Danny Elfman (Batman, Spider-Man, Alice in Wonderland), Howard Shore (Lord of the Rings, The Hobbit, The Departed), John Debney (Passion of the Christ, Elf, Iron Man 2), Marco Beltrami (Scream, World War Z), Christophe Beck (Frozen, The Hangover) Tyler Bates (Guardians of the Galaxy, 300), as well as insight from others in Hollywood including film critic Leonard Maltin and director/producer/actor Garry Marshall. The Kickstarter campaign will be launched on February 15, 2015 and funds raised will go toward final production costs for the documentary that will guide viewers through the creative processes of some of the world’s greatest composers/musicians. Supporters will be able to pre-order the film, with their contributions covering the cost of the production. Other rewards include the opportunity to have their own musical motif written by a Hollywood composer, or a trip to Los Angeles to attend the premiere. For updates on the project, visit the official movie website and Facebook page.

This movie should be called Chasing Notes Part 2! It looks great, but it’s the same movie. Chasing Notes just did a festival run in LA and will be released soon. Why the copy cat film? I’m a huge fan of film music, but why not be more original? They even interviewed all the same composers!
