Premiering tonight in the U.S. is the second part of the Worricker trilogy, Turks & Caicos directed by David Hare and starring Bill Nighy as MI5 spy Johnny Worricker, alongside Christopher Walken, Winona Ryder, Helena Bonham Carter and Ralph Fiennes. The film’s original music is composed by Paul Englishby (An Englishby, Miss Pettigrew Lives for a Day) who previously scored Hare’s Page Eight. The composer also scored the final part in the trilogy, Salting the Battlefield. Also premiering tonight is the third season of HBO’s The Newsroom created by Aaron Sorkin and starring Jeff Daniels, Emily Mortimer, Sam Waterston, John Gallagher, Jr., Alison Pill, Thomas Sadoski, Dev Patel and Olivia Munn. Jeff Beal (House of Cards, Monk, Rome, Carnivale, Pollock) is the new composer of the series. The previous seasons were scored by Alex Wurman and Johnny Klimek. The show also still features the main title theme composed by Thomas Newman. The final season of The Newsroom will air every Sunday night on HBO. Premiering on Saturday, November 14, on Starz is the mini-series The Missing created by Harry & Jack Williams and starring James Nesbitt, Frances O’Connor, Tcheky Karyo, Jason Flemyng, Ken Stott and Arsher Ali. The show’s original music is composed by Dominik Scherrer (Primeval, Ripper Street, Agatha Christie’s Marple). The Missing follows a father who is desperate to locate his missing five-year-old son when he disappears during a French vacation. The mini-series will air every Saturday night on Starz. Also premiering on November 14 is the Hallmark Hall of Fame original movie Northpole directed by Douglas Barr and starring Tiffani Thiessen, Josh Hopkins, Bailee Madison, Max Charles and Robert Wagner. James Gelfand (Cyberbully, Silent Night) has composed the film’s original music. Northpole follows a reporter who, with the help of her son and his teacher, recaptures the joy of the holiday season and in the process saves Christmas.
