Premiering tomorrow night is the History original mini-series Houdini directed by Uli Edel and starring Adrien Brody and Kristen Connolly. John Debney (The Passion of the Christ, Elf, Iron Man 2, Bruce Almighty) has composed the original music for the series about magician Harry Houdini. Lakeshore Records has released two soundtrack albums featuring the composer’s score (and additional music by Sebastian Arocha) digitally earlier this week. Also premiering tomorrow, September 1, is the Lifetime original movie The Unauthorized Saved by the Bell Story directed by Jason Lapeyre and starring Dylan Everett, Sam Kindseth, Julian Works, Alyssa Lynch, Tiera Skovbye and Taylor Russell McKenzie. The film’s original music is composed by Shawn Pierce (The Bridge, Haven, Motive). The Unauthorized Saved by the Bell Story tells the behind-the-scenes story of the 90s hit show as the cast struggles to maintain their squeaky-clean image amid growing stardom. Amazon Studios premiered a number of pilots for five new original shows this past Thursday. As previously reported, they include:

In addition, Amazon also premiered the pilot for the coming-of-age comedy Red Oaks produced by Steven Soderbergh (Traffic, Erin Brokovich), directed by David Gordon Green (Pineapple Express, The Sitter) and starring Craig Roberts, Jennifer Grey, Richard Kind, Oliver Cooper, Paul Reiser, Alexandra Socha, Gage Golightly and Ennis Esmer. The pilot’s original music is composed by Chad Benton (Good Vibes. Red Oaks follows an assistant tennis pro at the Red Oaks Country Club in suburban New Jersey in 1985. Soderbergh and Gordon Green are also executive producing the project with Gregory Jacobs (The Knick) and Joe Gangemi (Eliza Graves). To stream the episode, visit Amazon Instant.
The fifth project of Amazon’s third pilot season is the comedy Really written and directed by Jay Chandrasekhar (Super Troopers, The Dukes of Hazzard) who also stars in the show alongside Sarah Chalke, Selma Blair, Travis Schuldt, Hayes MacArthur, Collette Wolfe, Luka Jones, Lindsay Sloane and Rob Delaney. Singer/songwriter Stoll Vaughan has composed the pilot’s original score. His music has previously been featured in such shows as True Blood, Friday Night Lights and The Office. Really follows four hard-charging suburban Chicago couples trying to retain a grasp on their dwindling youth. Chandrasekhar is also executive producing the comedy with Jamie Tarses (Happy Endings).
