The film marks the second directorial effort of actress Helen Hunt who also stars in the movie alongside Luke Wilson, Brenton Thwaites, David Zayas, Robert Knepper, Mike White, Richard Kind, Leonor Varela and Elizabeth Jayne. The comedy follows a strong-willed mother who follows her 20-year-old son to Los Angeles after he quits college at NYU to become a surfer. Hunt has also written the screenplay and is producing the project with Lizzie Friedman (And Soon the Darkness), Gregg Little (Sex and Death 101) and Moon Blauner. Hunt’s directorial debut Then She Found Me featured a score by David Mansfield. Ride is currently in post-production and is expected to premiere later this year. Wass whose previous film scoring credits include Hit and RunThe FreebieNoah’s Ark: Jumping the Broom and The Pretty One has also scored the indie comedy The Big Ask, which will be released in select theaters on May 30 and is now available on VOD.
