Joel P. West is the composer of the upcoming indie drama About Alex. The film marks the directorial debut of Jesse Zwick (Parenthood) and stars Aubrey Plaza, Jason Ritter, Max Greenfield, Nate Parker, Maggie Grace, Max Minghella and Jane Levy. The movie follows seven college friends who reunite one long weekend after one of their own attempts suicide. Zwick has also written the screenplay and Adam Saunders (Family Weekend) is producing the Footprint Features production. Edward Zwick (Legends of the Fall, The Last Samurai) who is the director’s father is executive producing the project with Marshall Herskovitz (Traffic). West has previously scored last year’s critically acclaimed indie hit Short Term 12. About Alex is set to premiere next month at the Tribeca Film Festival.
