John Debney is scoring the upcoming Lifetime/History Channel mini-series Bonnie & Clyde. The four hour series is directed by Bruce Beresford (Driving Miss Daisy, Double Jeopardy) and stars Emile Hirsch and Holliday Grainger in the title roles of Clyde Barrow and Bonnie Parker, the 1930s couple whose crime spree enraptured the American public. Holly Hunter, William Hurt, Sarah Hyland, Elizabeth Reaser, Lane Garrison, Austin Hebert and Dale Dickey are co-starring. Craig Zadan and Neil Meron (Steel Magnolias, The Bucket List, Chicago) are producing the Sony Pictures Television production. John Rice and Joe Batteer (Windtalkers, Blown Away) have written the script. Debney has previously co-scored the History Channel’s Golden Globe- and Emmy-winning mini-series Hatfields & McCoys for Sony Pictures Television. Bonnie & Clyde is set to air simultaneously on Lifetime, History Channel and A&E later this year.
The Academy Award-nominated composer is also scoring the upcoming comedy Walk of Shame. The film is directed by Steven Brill (Mr. Deeds, Without a Paddle, Drillbit Taylor) and stars Elizabeth Banks, James Marsden and Gillian Jacobs. The movie follows an aspiring reporter whose dreams of becoming a network news anchor are compromised after a one-night stand leaves her stranded in downtown Los Angeles. Tom Rosenberg & Gary Lucchesi (Million Dollar Baby, The Lincoln Lawyer) are producing for Lakeshore Entertainment, alongside Sidney Kimmel (The Place Beyond the Pines, Lars and the Real Girl) for his own production company. Walk of Shame is currently set to be released on March 14, 2014 by FilmDistrict.
As previously reported, Debney has also scored the Steve Jobs-biopic Jobs starring Ashton Kutcher. A soundtrack album featuring the composer’s score will be released physically on Tuesday, August 27, 2013 by La-La Land Records and will be available digitally through Garage Ingenuity.
