Intrada Records has announced the world premiere soundtrack release of the complete score for the 1982 epic adventure Conan the Barbarian directed by John Milius and starring Arnold Schwarzenegger as Conan, James Earl Jones as Thulsa Doom and Sandahl Bergman as Valeria. The album includes the complete score composed by Basil Poledouris (Robocop, Starship Troopers), as well as the original 1982 soundtrack album and a number of alternates. The 3-CD set is now available to order on Intrada’s website, where you can also check out audio clips and the full track list.
The label has also announced the world premiere soundtrack release for the 1968 police thriller Coogan’s Bluff directed by Donald Siegel and starring Clint Eastwood. The album features the film’s complete score composed by Lalo Schifrin (Mission: Impossible, Bullit), as well as a couple of unused cues. At last…A long time coming. Not particurlarly a fan of the recent re-recording – so this version is most welcome. I can almost smell “Conan The Destroyer” as a future release. ‘Coogan’s Bluff” also; the most rare of Schifrin releases ever.
