A number of digital-only soundtrack albums by Metropolis Movie Music that have previously only been released overseas are coming out this week in the US. Among the titles is the soundtrack for the thriller The Samaritan. The album features the film’s score composed by Todor Kobakov. Also coming out this week stateside is the soundtrack for the horror film The Moth Diaries directed by Mary Harron (American Psycho) and starring Lily Cole, Sarah Bolger, Sarah Gadon and Scott Speedman. The movie premiered at last year’s Venice Film Festival and was released in theaters and on VOD earlier this year by IFC Films in the US. The movie is now available on Blu-Ray and DVD. The label is also releasing the soundtrack for the fantasy thriller drama Dorian Gray directed by Oliver Parker and starring Ben Barnes, Colin Firth, Rebecca Hall, Ben Chaplin, Emilia Fox and Rachel Hurd-Wood. The album features the film’s score composed by Charlie Mole who has collaborated with the director multiple times before on such films as An Ideal Husband and Othello. The soundtrack is available to download here. Dorian Gray premiered in the UK in 2009 and was released in the US the year after on Blu-Ray and DVD.
Another title to be released this week is the soundtrack for the Spanish-language anthology film 7 Days in Havana directed by Julio Médem, Laurent Cantet, Juan Carlos Tabío, Benicio del Toro, Gaspar Noé, Pablo Trapero and Elia Suleiman. The album features music by Melvis Estevez, Descemer Bueno, Kelvis Ochoa, Ignacio Pineiro and more. The movie opened in several European territories this summer. No word yet on a domestic release.
Also coming out on October 16 is the soundtrack for the dark romantic comedy Irvine Welsh‘s Ecstasy. The album features the film’s original score composed by Craig Robert McConnell, as well as the film’s electronic music tracks by Tiësto, Paul Oakenfold, Adam Nickey, DDA and more. Irvine Welsh’s Ecastasy is directed by Rob Heydon and stars Adam Sinclair, Kristin Kreuk, Billy Boyd, Carlo Rota and Dean McDermott. Another soundtrack title from the label is the British action thriller The Veteran directed by Matthew Hope, Toby Kebbell, Brian Cox and Ashley Thomas. The movie about a soldier who returns from the war in Afghanistan and uncovers a conspiracy involving the intelligence services and a gang of drug dealers opened last year in the UK and is now available on Blu-Ray and DVD.
