Jeremy Sams has signed on to score the upcoming period drama Hyde Park on Hudson. The film directed by Roger Michell (Notting Hill) stars Bill Murray as President Franklin Delano Roosevelt, alongside Laura Linney, Olivia Colman, Samuel West, Elizabeth Marvel, Elizabeth Wilson, Eleanor Bron and Olivia Williams. In the film, the President and his wife host the King and Queen of England for a weekend at the Roosevelt home at Hyde Park on Hudson, in upstate New York – the first-ever visit of a reigning English monarch to America. Richard Nelson has written the screenplay based on his radio play and Michell is producing the film with David Aukin (Mrs. Henderson Presents) and Kevin Loader (Captain Corelli’s Mandolin, In the Loop). Sams who is also known as a theatre and musical director has previously collaborated with Michell on his features Enduring Love, The Mother and 1995’s BBC adaptation of Jane Austen’s Persuasion. The director’s last two film Morning Glory and Venus, as well as the filmmaker’s 2002 drama Changing Lanes have been scored by David Arnold. Hyde Park on Hudson is scheduled for a release on December 7, 2012 by Focus Features.
