Mark Isham has been tapped to score the upcoming action thriller Stolen. The project marks the second collaboration between the composer and director Simon West (Con Air, Tomb Raider) who previously worked together on the Jason Statham-starring action film The Mechanic, which was released earlier this year. Stolen (which was recently renamed from its original title Medallion) stars Nicolas Cage as a former criminal who has to track down his kidnapped daughter who has been locked in the trunk of a taxi cab in New York City. Malin Akerman, Josh Lucas, Danny Huston, Mark Valley and M.C. Gainey are co-starring. David Guggenheim (Safe House) has written the script and Matthew Joynes and Jesse Kennedy are producing the Nu Image/Millennium Films production. McG and Avi Lerner are among the executive producers. No word yet on when the film will open, but a release date in 2012 is expected.
Isham is also currently scoring ABC’s hit show Once Upon a Time starring Jennifer Morrison, Ginnifer Goodwin, Robert Carlyle and Lana Parrilla. The show airs every Sunday night on the network. Visit our previous article for more details on the project. Also coming up next year for the composer is the romance The Lucky One directed by Scott Hicks and starring Zac Efron, Taylor Schilling and Blythe Danner as reported this past summer. The movie will be released on April 20, 2012 by Warner Bros. For updates on the film, visit the official movie website.
