Three new movies are opening in wide release this weekend:

Duncan Jones’ Source Code starring Jake Gyllenhaal, Michelle Monaghan and Vera Farmiga features music by Chris Bacon. A soundtrack including Bacon’s original score has been released by Lakeshore Records as reported here. The album is now available to order on Amazon and can be downloaded at Amazon and iTunes. Also opening wide is Tim Hill’s Hop starring Russell Brand as the voice of the Easter Bunny, as well as James Marsden, Elizabeth Perkins, Kaley Cuoco and Hugh Laurie. The film’s music is by composer Christopher Lennertz. As reported last week, a soundtrack with Lennertz’ score will be released by Varese Sarabande on April 19. The horror thriller Insidious marks composer Joseph Bishara’s first wide release. The movie directed by James Wan (Saw, Dead Silence) and produced by Oren Peli (Paranormal Activity) tells the story about a family haunted by vengeful spirits. The film stars Rose Byrne, Patrick Wilson and Barbara Hershey. No soundtrack release has been announced. To find out more about the film, visit the official movie webpage.

Opening in limited release is James Gunn’s action comedy Super starring Rainn Wilson, Ellen Page, Liv Tyler and Kevin Bacon. The film’s music is composed by Tyler Bates. A soundtrack album including Bates’ score and several sings from the film has been released by Lakeshore Records and is currently available to download at Amazon and iTunes with a physical CD coming out on April 5. Also opening in limited release is this year’s Foreign Language Oscar Winner In a Better World directed by Susanne Bier. The film’s score is written by Johan Söderqvist. A soundtrack album featuring the original score has been released last year and is available to order on Amazon and iTunes. Also check out Movie Score Media’s website for audio clips from the album.

Finally, also receiving a limited release is David Schwimmer’s thriller Trust. Nathan Larson has written the music for the movie starring Clive Owen, Catherine Keener, Jason Clarke, Noah Emmerich and Viola Davis. No word yet on soundtrack release.
