Walt Disney Records has released Arcade Fire‘s cover of the song Baby Mine from Tim Burton’s live-action film adaptation of Disney’s Dumbo. The track was originally written by Frank Churchill and Ned Washington for the studio’s 1941 animated movie and was newly recorded for the end credits sequence of the remake. The song is being released as a digital single today and is now available to download on Amazon. Listen to the full track after the jump. A full soundtrack album for the movie, which also features Danny Elfman’s score, will be released digitally on March 29 and physically the following week. Tim Burton’s ‘Dumbo’ to Feature End Credits Song by Arcade Fire
Walt Disney Pictures has announced that Arcade Fire has recorded a new version of the Academy Award-nominated song Baby Mine for Disney’s upcoming Dumbo live-action movie. The song was originally written by Frank Churchill and Ned Washington (lyrics) for the 1941 animated classic. The new version will be featured during the movie’s end credits and will be included on the official soundtrack album, which also features the film’s original score by Danny Elfman, which is set to be released digitally on March 29 and physically on April 5 by Walt Disney Records.
Danny Elfman to Score Tim Burton’s ‘Dumbo’
Danny Elfman confirmed during a press interview promoting his Danny Elfman’s Music From the Films of Tim Burton concert in Mexico City later this month that he will be reuniting with director Tim Burton on the upcoming live-action adaptation of Disney’s Dumbo. The movie starring Colin Farrell, Eva Green, Michael Keaton, Danny DeVito and Alan Arkin is based on the studio’s 1941 animated classic of the same title about the young elephant with extraordinarily large ears who develops the skill to fly. Ehren Kruger (The Ring, Arlington Road, Scream 3) wrote the screenplay and is also producing the project with Katterli Frauenfelder, Derek Frey and Justin Springer (Prom).

The full details of the soundtrack album for Tim Burton’s Miss Peregrine’s Home for Peculiar Children have been revealed. The album features the film’s original music composed by Mike Higham and Matthew Margeson (Kingsman: The Secret Service, Eddie the Eagle, Kick-Ass 2). The soundtrack will be released on October 11, 2016 by La-La Land Records and the label’s website and on October 14, 2016 at other retail stores. Visit Amazon to pre-order the CD. Matthew Margeson and Mike Higham are currently scoring the upcoming fantasy adventure Miss Peregrine’s Home for Peculiar Children. The score will be recorded in London within the next few weeks. The movie stars Eva Green, Asa Butterfield, Ella Purnell, Allison Janney, Terence Stamp, Rupert Everett, Judi Dench and Samuel L. Jackson. The film is based on the Ransom Riggs novel and follows a teenager who finds himself transported to an island where he must help protect a group of orphans with special powers from creatures out to destroy them. ‘Big Eyes’ Soundtrack Preview
The Weinstein Company has published the score for Tim Burton’s Big Eyes. The music is composed by the director’s regular musical collaborator Danny Elfman (Batman, Spider-Man, Alice in Wonderland). Also available to stream is the original song Big Eyes performed by Lana Del Rey and written by herself and Daniel Heath (check out the recently published lyric music video after the jump). Big Eyes starring Amy Adams, Christoph Waltz, Krysten Ritter, Danny Huston, Jason Schwartzman and Terence Stamp is based on the true story of Walter Keane, who was one of the most successful painters of the 1950s and early 1960s whose art, as was later revealed, was actually not created by him at all, but by his wife, Margaret.
Danny Elfman’s Music from the Films of Tim Burton to Return to Los Angeles
Following a number of sold out concerts around the world, Danny Elfman’s Music from the Films of Tim Burton will return to Los Angeles this fall. The concerts will take place at the Nokia Theatre L.A. LIVE on Friday, October 31 and the Honda Center on Sunday, November 2. The program includes newly created suites from all sixteen film collaborations of Elfman and Tim Burton, including such titles as Batman, Alice in Wonderland, Edward Scissorhands, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory and Big Fish. Elfman himself will perform his songs from The Nightmare Before Christmas. The music will be performed by the Hollywood Studio Symphony and choir conducted by John Mauceri and the concert will be accompanied with large screen film clips, and the artwork of Tim Burton.
Danny Elfman to Attend ‘Alice in Wonderland’ World Premiere Live to Projection Concert
The 21st Century Symphony Orchestra has announced that Danny Elfman will be attending a series of concerts this March at the KKL Luzern Concert Hall in Lucerne, Switzerland. On March 21, 2014, the concert Danny Elfman’s Music from the Films of Tim Burton will make its premiere in Switzerland. The event, which features the composer’s music for the director’s films such as Batman, Nightmare Before Christmas, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, Beetlejuice, Sleepy Hollow and Big Fish world premiered last year at London’s Royal Albert Hall and will also be performed in other cities this spring and summer, including Prague, Mexico City, Seattle and San Diego. On March 22 & 23, the KKL will host the world premiere performance of Elfman‘s original score for Burton’s Alice in Wonderland performed live to projection.
