The full composer line-up of the new National Geographic documentary series Photographer has been revealed. The show pairs the world’s most extraordinary visual storytellers with today’s leading documentary filmmakers, with each episode focusing on the story of an iconic photographer. The National’s Bryce Dessner (The Two Popes, Cyrano, Bardo, Manhunt, She Came to Me) has composed the score for the episodes Paul Nicklen & Cristina Mittermeier: Win or Die directed by E. Chai Vasarhelyi & Jimmy Chin about two of the world’s most iconic working ocean photographers, and Dan Winters: Life is once. Forever. directed by Pagan Harleman about the photographer who is widely known for his unusual and iconic portraits of celebrities, street photography, scientific work, illustrations and capturing the “hallowed grounds” of NASA. Robert Ouyang Rusli (Problemista, Test Pattern, Bruiser) has scored the episode Campbell Addy: Feeling Seen directed by Crystal Kayiza & Sam Pollard about the fashion photographer who landed on Forbes’ 30 Under 30 list. T. Griffin (Life, Animated, Boys State, California Solo, Charm City) has composed the original music for the episodes Anand Varma: Hidden Wonders directed by Marshall Curry and as well as Krystle Wright: Heart Explosions directed by Kristi Jacobson about the photographer who specializes in the eavily male-dominated world of adventure photography. He also co-scored the episode Muhammed Muheisen: Finding the Light directed by Rita Baghdadi about the National Geographic photojournalist, founder and chairman of the Dutch nonprofit organization Everyday Refugees Foundation and veteran conflict photographer with Brian McOmber (Fair Play, It Comes at Night, Krisha, Little Woods). Chai Vasarhelyi & Chin (Free Solo, Nyad) & Harleman are also executive producing the Little Monster Films production with Anna Barnes and Brent Kunkle are co-executive producers. For National Geographic, Betsy Forhan and Chris Kugelman Photographer will air Mondays on National Geographic and also just premiered today on Disney+ and Hulu.
