Michael Giacchino (Up, Lost, Jurassic World, Ratatouille, Spider-Man: No Way Home,  The Incredibles, The Batman, Doctor Strange) has recently been recording music for the upcoming family fantasy adventure IF. The film is written and directed by John Krasinski (A Quiet Place, The Hollars) and stars Ryan Reynolds, Krasinski himself, Fiona Shaw, Cailey Fleming and Bobby Moynihan. The movie, which also features the voice talent of Phoebe Waller-Bridge, Emily Blunt, Louis Gossett Jr., Matt Damon, Jon Stewart, Maya Rudolph, Sam Rockwell, Christopher Meloni, Sebastian Maniscalco, Richard Jenkins, Awkwafina & Steve Carell, tells the story of a girl who discovers that she can see everyone’s imaginary friends and embarks on a magical adventure to reconnect forgotten IFs with their kids. Krasinski & Reynolds are also producing the project with Allyson Seeger (Die in a Gunfight) and Andrew Form (The Purge, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles). Krasinski has shared an image from the scoring sessions on Instagram. IF will be released in theaters nationwide on May 17, 2024 by Paramount Pictures.

Giacchino also has the animated feature High on the Clouds and Brad Bird’s Ray Gunn coming up. He is also set to direct and score the monster movie Them! for Warner Bros. Pictures.
