Joseph Shirley (Creed III, The Book of Boba Feet, The Mandalorian, Bad Trip, Fairfax) has provided the original score for the upcoming sports comedy The Underdoggs. The film is directed by Charles Stone III (Drumline, Mr. 3000) and stars Snoop Dogg, Tika Sumpter, Mike Epps, Andrew Schulz and George Lopez. The movie follows a washed-up former pro football star who hits rock bottom and is sentenced to community service coaching an unruly pee-wee football team in his hometown. Danny Segal and Isaac Schamis wrote the screenplay. Snoop Dogg is also producing the MGM production with Kenya Barris (Black-ish, Girls Trip), Mychelle Deshamps, Jonathan Glickman (Rush Hour, Shanghai Noon) and Constance Schwartz-Morini. The Underdoggs will premiere on January 26, 2024 exclusively on Prime Video.
Shirley is also expected to return to score the fourth season of Disney+’s The Mandalorian.
