David Fleming (The Last of UsThe Unforgivable, The Night Logan Woke Up, Hillbilly Elegy, Blue Planet II) has recently scored the upcoming Netflix original film Damsel. The movie is directed by Juan Carlos Fresnadillo (28 Weeks Later, Intruders) and stars Millie Bobby Brown, Angela Bassett, Robin Wright, Nick Robinson, Shohreh Aghdashloo, Ray Winstone, Brooke Carter. The fantasy adventure tells the story of a dutiful damsel who agrees to marry a handsome prince, only to find the royal family has recruited her as a sacrifice to repay an ancient debt. Dan Mazeau (Fast X, Clash of the Titans) wrote the screenplay. Joe Roth (Alice in Wonderland, Snow White and the Huntsman) and Jeff Kirschenbaum (F9: The Fast Saga, Dolittle) are producing the project. Damsel will premiere in 2024 on Netflix.

Fleming’s other recent projects include Tony Tost’s Americana, which premiered at last year’s SXSW Film Festival and is currently awaiting a release date.
