Film Fest Gent has announced the new album Laurence Rosenthal – Music for Film and Television featuring music by recipient of the Lifetime Achievement Award at this year’s World Soundtrack Awards, including all-new studio recordings of selected scores by the composer performed by the Brussels Philharmonic and conducted by the festival’s music director Dirk Brossé. Titles featured on the album include Becket (for which he received an Academy Award nomination), The Miracle Worker, The Return of a Man Called Horse, Clash of the Titans and the miniseries Mussolini: The Untold Story. Also included is a revised version of the finale from A Raisin in the Sun and a new  arrangement of Rosenthal’s theme from Fantasy Island, as well as several previously unreleased tracks, including the suite from the documentary Michelangelo: The Last Giant (for which he won his first Emmy Award) and the suite from Young Indiana Jones and the Hollywood Follies. The CD will be released during the 50th edition of Film Fest Gent in October and is now available to order on the festival’s website. The soundtrack licensed to Silva Screen Records is will also be coming out next month and will be available in other music stores (visit Amazon to pre-order and click here to stream/download).
