Columbia Records will release the official soundtrack album for the Netflix animated film Guillermo del Toro’s Pinocchio. The album features the movie’s original score composed by Academy Award winner Alexandre Desplat (The Grand Budapest Hotel, The Shape of Water, The Queen, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, Godzilla). Also included are the film’s original songs written by Desplat, featuring lyrics by Roeban Katz & del Toro and performed by voice cast members Ewan McGregor, Gregory Mann, David Bradley, Christoph Waltz and Tim Blake Nelson. The soundtrack will be released digitally on December 9 and physically the following week. Click here to pre-order the digital version and visit Amazon to order the CD version. Two score tracks (embedded below) and the song Ciao Papa (performed by Mann) will already be available to stream/download tomorrow. Pinocchio is directed by del Toro & Mark Gustafson and also stars Tilda Swinton, Burn Gorman, Ron Perlman, John Turturro, Finn Wolfhard and Cate Blanchett. The animated feature opened in select theaters last weekend and will premiere on December 9 on Netflix.
