Quartet Records has announced a new soundtrack album for the 1968 western The Scalphunters directed by Sydney Pollack and starring Burt Lancaster, Shelley Winters, Telly Savalas and Ossie Davis. The album features the expanded original music from the MGM Studios production composed by Academy Award winner Elmer Bernstein (The Magnificent SevenGhostbusters, To Kill a Mockingbird, Airplane, Far from Heaven, StripesAnimal House), including a remastered version of original album recording and the previously unreleased original score as heard in the film. The label’s other new releases include a remastered reissue of Ennio Morricone’s score for Pier Paolo Pasolini’s 1974 feature Arabian Nights (both in CD and vinyl formats), as well as a the 5xLP box set Rambo: The Jerry Goldsmith Vinyl Collection featuring Goldsmith’s expanded scores from the original Rambo trilogy.
