Opening in theaters nationwide this weekend is the crime comedy Amsterdam directed by David O. Russell and starring Christian Bale, Margot Robbie, John David Washington, Alessandro Nivola, Anya Taylor-Joy, Taylor Swift, Mike Myers, Rami Malek and Robert De Niro. The film’s original score is composed by Daniel Pemberton (Spider-Man: Into the Spider-VerseSteve Jobs, Enola Holmes). Hollywood Records has released a soundtrack album featuring the composer’s score, as well as several songs from the movie (including an original track performed by Giveon) today. Also opening wide is the family musical comedy Lyle, Lyle, Crocodile directed by Will Speck & Josh Gordon and starring Shawn Mendes, Javier Bardem, Constance Wu an Winslow Fegley. Benj Pasek & Justin Paul (Dear Evans Hansen, The Greatest Showman) have written most of the film’s original songs and Matthew Margeson (Kingsman series, RocketmanMiss Peregrine’s Home for Peculiar Children) has composed the movie’s original score. Island Records has released a soundtrack album featuring the songs from the movie today (click here for the full album details) and Madison Gate Records has released a separate soundtrack featuring Margeson’s score today (click here for more information).

Opening in select Los Angeles and New York theaters today before expanding to more markets over the next couple of weeks is the psychological drama TÁR written and directed by Todd Field and starring Cate Blanchett, Noémie Merlant, Sophie Kauer, Nina Hoss, Julian Glover, Allan Corduner and Mark Strong. The film’s original music is composed by Hildur Guðnadóttir (JokerChernobylSicario: Day of the Soldado, Women Talking). Also opening in select theaters is the comedy Triangle of Sadness written and directed by Ruben Östlund and starring Harris Dickinson, Charlbi Dean, Dolly De Leon, Henrik Dorsin, Zlatko Burić, Vicki Berlin and Woody Harrelson. The film doesn’t feature an original score. Mikkel Maltha & Leslie Ming are the project’s music supervisors. No word on a soundtrack release. The movie premiered at this year’s Cannes Film Festival, where it received the Palme d’Or and is being distributed in the U.S. by Neon.

Opening in select theaters and on VOD today is the drama To Leslie directed by Michael Morris and starring Andrea Riseborough, Allison Janney, Marc Maron, Andre Royo, Owen Teague, Stephen Root, James Landry Hebert, Matt Lauria and Catfish Jean. Linda Perry (Luckiest Girl Alive, Kid 90, Citizen Penn) has composed the film’s original score and also wrote the original song Angels Are Falling performed by Patty Griffin. Opening in select theaters U.S. today before premiering on Netflix on October 28 is the German war drama All Quiet on the Western Front directed by Edward Berger and starring Felix Kammerer, Albrecht Schuch, Aaron Hilmer, Moritz Klaus, Edin Hasanović, Thibault de Montalembert and Daniel Brühl. Opening in a single theater today before premiering next Friday, October 14 on Netflix is the comedy The Curse of Bridge Hollow directed by Jeff Wadlow and starring Priah Ferguson, Marlon Wayans, Kelly Rowland, Lauren Lapkus, Rob Riggle, John Michael Higgins and Nia Vardalos. Christopher Lennertz (The Boys, Lost in Space, Sausage PartyHorrible Bosses, Agent Carter, Supernatural) has composed the film’s original music.
