Tindersticks are reteaming with director Claire Denis on the upcoming French drama Both Sides of the Blade (Avec amour et acharnement). The rock band has contributed both the original score and an original song, which will be released as part of the album PAST IMPERFECT: The best of tindersticks ’92 – ’21, which will be released on March 25 (visit Amazon to pre-order the CD and vinyl version and check out the official music video below). The film starring Juliette Binoche, Vincent Lindon, Grégoire Colin, Issa Perica, Bulle Ogier and Mati Diop revolves around a woman who caught between two men, her long-time partner and his best friend, her former lover. Denis also co-wrote the screenplay with Christine Angot. Olivier Delbosc (The Next Three Days, 8 Women) is producing the Curiosa Films production. Tindersticks & the band’s frontman Stuart A. Staples have previously scored most of Denis’ previous features, including High Life, White Material, Bastards and Let the Sunshine In. Both Sides of the Blade will premiere this month at the 2022 Berlin Film Festival.
