Universal Pictures announced today that Ludwig Göransson (Black PantherCreed, The Mandalorian, VenomCommunity) will reteam with Christopher Nolan (The Dark Knight, Inception, Memento) on the director’s upcoming historical drama Oppenheimer. The film is written and directed by Nolan and will star Cillian Murphy in the title role of American physicist, J. Robert Oppenheimer. The movie is based on the Pulitzer Prize-winning book American Prometheus: The Triumph and Tragedy of J. Robert Oppenheimer by Kai Bird & Martin J. Sherwin and is produced by Nolan, Emma Thomas and Atlas Entertainment’s Charles Roven (Wonder Woman, Man of Steel). Göransson has previously scored Nolan’s last feature Tenet. Oppenheimer will start production in early 2022 and will be released in theaters on July 21, 2023.

Göransson’s other upcoming projects include Pixar’s Turning Red, Marvel’s Black Panther: Wakanda Forever and Disney+’s The Book of Boba Fett.
