Torin Borrowdale (Searching) has been tapped to score the upcoming Netflix original series Locke & Key. The show is created by Joe Hill (NOS4A2, Horns) based on the comic book franchise he co-created with Gabriel Rodriguez and stars Jackson Robert Scott, Connor Jessup, Emilia Jones, Sherri Saum, Griffin Gluck, Darby Stanchfield, Laysla De Oliveira, Petrice Jones and Thomas Mitchell Barnet. The fantasy horror drama revolves around three siblings who, after the gruesome murder of their father, move to their ancestral home in Massachusetts only to find the house has magical keys that give them a vast array of powers and abilities. Carlton Cuse (Lost, The Strain), Aron Eli Coleite and Meredith Averill (The Haunting of Hill House) have developed the series and are also executive producing the project with Hill, Lindsey Springer (Tom Clancy’s Jack Ryan), Andy Muschietti & Barbara Muschietti (ItMama), David Alpert (The Walking Dead, American Ultra), Rick Jacobs & Ted Adams (Dirk Gently’s Holistic Detective Agency, Wynonna Earp). Abel Korzeniowski has previously scored the pilot of an earlier TV adaptation (with some of the same producers and different cast) for Hulu. Locke & Key is expected to premiere later this year or in 2020 on Netflix.

As previously reported, Borrowdale also has Aneesh Chaganty’s thriller Run starring Sarah Paulson coming up.

…thanks a lot, but Nothing of that is it…espacially how it was played. I would like to knwo exactly the title of the Soundtrack of the Trailer.

  4. Toria says:

It’s the Rachmaninoff but only using the first 8 bars of the piece. The chord progression is fairly unique.

  5. Janet says:

It is Rachmaninoff’s Prelude in C Sharp Minor, Op. 3, No.2, without a doubt. I am very familiar with this piece, as I’ve played it hundreds of times.

  6. Eric says:

Can you put real soundtrack for Locke & key please

  7. MF says:

As Corrie Willard said correctly, it’s Rachmaninoff’s Prelude in C Sharp Minor.

Here the composer plays himself: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZcG-DnGdWRw

One of my favorite versions is the one by Igudesman & Joo: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ifKKlhYF53w

And this is a short part of the Locke and Key trailer-version I would love to buy, but haven’t found a possibility so far: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Byh4VC1Nx7g
