Mark Isham has been hired to score the upcoming crime thriller Honest Thief. The film is directed by Mark Williams (Ozark) and stars Liam Neeson, Kate Walsh, Anthony Ramos, Jai Courtney, Jeffrey Donovan and Jeffrey Wright. The movie centers on a bank robber who tries to turn himself in because he’s falling in love with a woman. Steve Allrich wrote the screenplay. Williams is also producing the project with Tai Duncan (Proud Mary, How It Ends), Myles Nestel & Craig Chapman (Laggies, Wheelman) are producing the project. Isham has previously scored Williams’ directorial debut A Family Man and also composed the music for the Williams-produced feature The Accountant. Honest Thief is currently in post-production and is expected to be released in 2020.
Isham’s other upcoming projects include the Disney+ movie Togo and John Ridley’s Needle in a Timestack, as well as the romantic drama See You Soon directed byDavid Mahmoudieh and starring Liam McIntyre, Jenia Taneava & Harvey Keitel (opening in select theaters this weekend). The composer has also recently been scoring the upcoming Epix original series Godfather of Harlem created by Chris Brancato (Narcos, Hannibal) & Paul Eckstein and starring Forest Whitaker, Vincent D’Onofrio, Ilfenesh Hadera, Antoinette Crowe-Legacy, Nigél Thatch, Kelvin Harrison Jr., Lucy Fry, Paul Sorvino, Giancarlo Esposito and Rafi Gavron. The drama tells the true story of infamous crime boss Bumpy Johnson who in the early 1960s returned from a decade in prison to find the neighborhood he once ruled in shambles. Brancato, Eckstein and Whitaker are also executive producing the ABC Signature Studios production with Nina Yang Bongiovi (Fruitvale Station, Dope), James Acheson (Mad Money) and Markuann Smith. John Ridley (12 Years a Slave) who previously collaborated with Isham on ABC’s American Crime and the documentary Let It Fall: Los Angeles 1982-1992 has directed the first episode.
