Thomas Newman is reteaming with director John Lee Hancock on the upcoming Netflix original movie The Highwaymen. The crime drama starring Kevin Costner, Woody Harrelson, Kathy Bates, John Carroll Lynch, Kim Dickens, Thomas Mann and William Sadler is based on the true events of Texas Ranger Frank Hamer and ex-partner Maney Gault, who are drawn out of retirement in a last-ditch effort to hunt down Bonnie and Clyde. John Fusco (Young Guns, Hidalgo, Marco Polo) wrote the screenplay with Hancock and Scott Frank (Godless, Out of Sight, Logan). Casey Silver (Godless, Ladder 49, The Forbidden Kingdom) is producing the project through Casey Silver Productions company. Newman has previously collaborated with Hancock (The Blind Side, The Rookie, The Founder) on the 2013 feature Saving Mr. Banks. The Highwaymen is currently in post-production and will premiere exclusively on Netflix. No release date has been announced yet.

I’d be interested to know who performed “metal Man” at the end of this film. Enjoyed the film and was impressed by the fiddle

Watched the movie last night and enjoyed it. I did not pay attention to the score until I watched the lone car driving across the highway, then I knew it was TN. Also loved the Bluegrass music woven into the score.
