Dan Romer is scoring the upcoming Netflix original limited series Maniac. The show is developed by Patrick Somervile, directed by Cary Fukunaga (True Detective, Jane Eyre, Sin Nombre) and stars Emma Stone, Jonah Hill, Sonoya Mizuno, Justin Theroux, Julia Garner and Sally Field. The comedy is based on the Norwegian television series of the same title created by Hakon Bast Mossige & Espen PA Lervaag, follows two strangers who find themselves caught up in a mind-bending pharmaceutical trial gone awry. Hill, Stone and Fukunaga are also executive producing the project with Michael Sugar (Spotlight, 13 Reasons Why) and Doug Wald (‘Til Death). Romer has previously collaborated with Fukanaga on his last feature, Beasts of No Nation. Maniac is set to premiere on September 21, 2018 on Netflix.

Romer (Beasts of the Southern Wild, Digging for Fire, Easy) also continues to score ABC’s The Good Doctor and Netflix’s Atypical, both of which will return for their second seasons soon.
