Director Amma Asante revealed on Twitter that composer Anne Chmelewsky is currently recording her score for the upcoming period drama Where Hands Touch. The film is written and directed by Asante and stars Amandla Stenberg, George Mackay and Abbie Cornish. The movie takes place in Germany in 1944 where a 15-year-old girl, daughter of a white German mother and a black father, lives in fear due to the color of her skin and falls in love with the son of a prominent SS officer. Charlie Hanson (Cemetery Junction) is producing the project. Asante has previously collaborated with Rachel Portman and Patrick Doyle on her previous two features, Belle and A United Kingdom. Chmelewsky has previously scored a Christmas Special of the Hanson-produced series DerekWhere Hands Touch marks her feature film scoring debut. The movie is currently in post-production and is expected to premiere later this year.
