jeff-russoJeff Russo is set to score the upcoming Syfy original series Channel Zero. The show is created by Nick Antosca (The Forest) based on Kris Straub’s online short story and will star Paul Schneider, Fiona Shaw, Shaun Benson, Natalie Brown and Luisa D’Oliveira. The anthology series centers on one man’s obsessive recollection of a mysterious children’s television program from the 1980s – and his ever-growing suspicions about the role it might have played in a series of nightmarish and deadly events from his childhood. Craig William Macneill (The Boy) will direct all episodes of the first season. Antosca is also executive producing the Universal Cable production with Max Landis (ChronicleAmerican UltraVictor Frankenstein). Channel Zero is set to premiere this fall on Syfy. Russo’s other current projects include CBS’ American Gothic, ABC’s Time After Time, HBO’s The Night Of and the new season of Starz’s Power. He will also return to score the third season of FX’s Fargo and is also teaming up with Fargo showrunner Noah Hawley on the upcoming FX drama Legion. The show stars Dan Stevens, Rachel Keller, Jean Smart, Aubrey Plaza, Jeremie Harris, Amber Midthunder, Katie Aselton and Bill Irwin. The series is set in the universe of Marvel’s X-Men franchise and centers on a troubled young man struggling with mental illness who encounters a fellow patient, when he is confronted with the possibility that the voices he hears and the visions he sees might be real. Hawley is also executive producing the project with  Lauren Shuler Donner, Bryan Singer &  Simon Kinberg (X-Men film series), Jeph Loeb & Jim Chory (DaredevilJessica Jones) and John Cameron (Bad SantaLars and the Real Girl). Legion is set to premiere in early 2017 on FX.
