Mark Isham has been hired to score the upcoming animated feature Duck Duck Goose. The film is directed by Christopher Jenkins (producer of Surf’s Up and Home) and features the voices of Jim Gaffigan, Stephen Fry, Zendaya, Carl Reiner, Jennifer Grey, Molly Shannon, Lance Lim,Greg Proops, Diedrich Bader and Rick Overton. The movie follows a goose who rescues two young ducklings from an eccentric but deadly cat. Jenkins has also written the screenplay with Rob Muir (Tinker Bell and the Great Fairy Rescue). Sandra Rabins & Penny Finkelman Cox (The Prince of Egypt) are producing the Original Force Animation production with Viola Chen. Duck Duck Goose is set to be released in 2017.
Isham also continues to score ABC’s Once Upon a Time, which has recently been renewed for a sixth season. He also just finished scoring the second season of ABC’s American Crime. The composer’s upcoming feature projects include Gavin O’Connor’s The Accountant starring Ben Affleck & Anna Kendrick, Scott Hick’s fantasy romance Fallen, Stephen Herek’s The Great Gilly Hopkins starring Sophie Nelisse & Glenn Close, Bob Yari’s Papa, as well as Septembers of Shiraz starring Salma Hayek & Adrian Brody, which premiered at last year’s Toronto Film Festival. Isham also composed the music for the upcoming drama Mr. Church directed by Bruce Beresford and starring Eddie Murphy & Britt Robertson. The movie, which centers around a unique friendship that develops when a little girl and her dying mother retain the services of a talented cook, will premiere next month at the Tribeca Film Festival. Also coming up for the composer is the action thriller Mechanic: Resurrection directed by Dennis Gansel and starring Jason Statham, Tommy Lee Jones, Jessica Alba & Michelle Yeoh. The film, which is the sequel to 2011’s The Mechanic, which Isham also scored, is set to be released on August 26 by Lionsgate/Summit Entertainment.
