The full musical team for Disney’s upcoming animated feature Moana was announced at this year’s D23 fan expo. As previously announced, Mark Mancina will be composing the score for the movie. The composer who previously scored the studio’s Tarzan, Brother Bear, as well as Planes and its sequel is collaborating with Te Vaka’s Opetaia Foa’I, a New Zealand guitarist, and Lin-Manuel Miranda who is best known for writing the Broadway musical In the Heights. Moana directed by John Musker & Ron Clements (The Little Mermaid, Aladdin, The Princess and the Frog) is set in the ancient South Pacific world of Oceania and follows a spirited teenager who takes to the seas to find the long-lost island that can connect her to her ancestors. Dwayne Johnson is lending his voice to the project. Moana is set to be released on November 23, 2016 by Walt Disney Pictures.

The music of Mark Mancina for Disney movies is great! It well be a fantastic score! Sure.
So, John Musker and Ron Clements had been worked with composers like: Alan Menken (The Little Mermaid, Aladdin and Hercules) and Randy Newman (The Princess and the Frog) and today they worked with the veteran composer named Mark Mancina.
I had entire life with composer and director collaborations like: Alan Menken and John Musker/Ron Clements, Randy Newman and Barry Levinson and Mark Mancina and Jan de Bont.
He’s a genius. Mark Mancina is a genius.
High hopes for this one. Like the moving tattoos and the song. Sounds a little bit like Lilo and Stitch, which I guess makes sense…
