Christopher Lennertz and Jay Gruska have composed the original songs for the 200th episode of The CW hit series Supernatural. The special musical episode entitled Fan Fiction follows Sam (Jared Padalecki) and Dean Winchester (Jensen Ackles) as they investigate the disappearance of a high school teacher and are stunned to discover that the school is putting on a musical based on their lives. One of the show’s writers Robert Thompson wrote the lyrics to accompany the composers’ music. Original songs include The Boys Investigate, Supernatural, A Single Man Tear, The Road So Far, I’ll Just Wait Here Then, and an a cappella version of Carry on My Wayward Son. Lennertz and Gruska have been scoring the series since the first season. Lennertz also collaborated with show creator Eric Kripke on NBC’s Revolution. Lennertz’s upcoming projects also include the comedy sequel Horrible Bosses 2, the comedy The Wedding Ringer and Marvel’s TV series Agent Carter. The composer is also producing the songs and composing the score for the new ABC musical comedy Galavant created by Dan Fogelman and starring Joshua Sasse, Timothy Omundson, Vinnie Jones, Mallory Jansen, Karen David and Luke Youngblood.
