dark-placesGregory Tripi is scoring the upcoming indie mystery thriller Dark Places. The film is written and directed by Gilles Paquet-Brenner (Sarah’s KeyWalled In) and stars Charlize Theron, Chloe Grace Moretz, Nicholas Hoult, Christina Hendricks, Corey Stoll, Tye Sheridan. Drea DeMatteo, Andrea Roth and Sterling Jerins. The movie is based on a novel by Gillian Flynn (Gone Girl) and follows a woman who survived the massacre of her family as a young girl and testified against her brother. 25 years later, she is confronted by a secret society obsessed with solving notorious crimes. Stephane Marsil (Adventures of Arsene Lupin), Beth Kono & AJ Dix (The Butterfly EffectSleepwalking), Cathy Schulman (CrashThe Illusionist) Matthew Rhodes (Southland Tales, Passengers) and Matt Jackson (End of WatchSnitch) are producing the project. Tripi has previously composed additional music for numerous films scored by Cliff Martinez, including DriveContagion and The Lincoln Lawyer. He also collaborated with composer Christopher Young on a number of films such as PriestGhost Rider and Drag Me to Hell. His solo scoring credits include the video game Twisted MetalDark Places is currently in post-production and is expected to premiere later this year.
