Henry Jackman and Matt Margeson are composing the music for the upcoming action thriller Kingsman: The Secret Service. The film is directed by Matthew Vaughn (Layer Cake, Stardust) and stars Colin Firth, Samuel L. Jackson, Michael Caine, Taron Egerton, Mark Strong and Jack Davenport. The movie based on based on the comic book by Mark Millar (Kick-Ass) and Dave Gibbons (Watchmen) tells the story of a super-secret spy organization that recruits an unrefined but promising street kid into the agency’s ultra-competitive training program just as a global threat emerges from a twisted tech genius. Vaughn and Jane Goldman (The Debt, The Woman in Black) have co-written the screenplay and the director is also producing the project with David Reid & Adam Bohling (Layer Cake). Jackman has previously collaborated with Vaughn on the Kick-Ass movies, as well as on 2011’s X-Men: First Class. Margeson has composed additional music for X-Men: First Class and co-scored the Vaughn-produced Kick-Ass 2. Kingsman: The Secret Service is set to be released on October 24, 2014 by 20th Century Fox
As previously reported, Jackman also has the comedy The Interview and the animated feature Big Hero 6 coming up. Margeson’s upcoming projects include The Curse of Downers Grove.
