Howe Records will release the official soundtrack album for David Cronenberg’s body horror drama The Shrouds. The album features the film’s original music composed by Academy Award winner Howard Shore (The Lord of the RingsThe Silence of the Lambs, HugoThe AviatorThe Hobbit, Mrs. Doubtfire, The Departed, The Fly, A History of Violence). The soundtrack will be released digitally tomorrow, April 18 and will be available to stream/download on Amazon and any other major digital music services. Also listen to the composer’s title track below. The Shrouds is written and directed by Cronenberg and stars Vincent Cassel, Diane Kruger, Guy Pearce and Sandrine Holt. The movie follows a a techno-entrepreneur nam grieving the death of his wife who invents GraveTech, a revolutionary and controversial technology that enables the living to monitor their dear departed in their shrouds. The drama premiered at last year’s Cannes Film Festival and is being released in select U.S. theaters this weekend by Sideshow & Janus Films.
