cold-in-julyJeff Grace is reuniting with director Jim Mickle on the upcoming thriller Cold in July. The film starring Michael C. Hall, Don Johnson, Sam Shepard, Vinessa Shaw, Nick Damici and Wyatt Russell follows a small-town Texas man kills a home intruder, only to see his life violently unravel. Mickle has also co-written the screenplay with his writing partner Nick Damici based on the cult novel of the same title by Joe Lansdale. Linda Moran & René Bastian (Transamerica), Marie Savare de Laitre and Adam Folk (Mulberry Street) are producing the project. Grace has previously collaborated with Mickle on his last two features Stake Land and this year’s We Are What We Are. Cold in July is set to premiere in competition next month at the Sundance Film Festival.

As previously reported, Grace has also scored the thriller Night Moves starring Jesse Eisenberg, Dakota Fanning and Peter Sarsgaard. The movie premiered at this year’s Toronto Film Festival and was picked up for domestic distribution by Cinedigm for a theatrical release next year. The composer has also written the music for the drama Cold Comes the Night starring Bryan Cranston and Alice Eve. The film is set to be released on VOD and in select theaters on January 10, 2014 by Stage 6 Films and Samuel Goldwyn Films.
