Mark Kilian is composing the music for the romantic drama Parts Per Billion. The film is written and directed by Brian Horiuchi and stars Frank Langella, Gena Rowlands, Rosario Dawson, Josh Hartnett, Penn Badgley, Teresa Palmer, Alexis Bledel and Hill Harper. The movie follows three couples dealing with the same reality-shaking event, which threatens to tear them apart. Molly Hassell (Edmond), Jennifer Levine (Delirious), Michael Benaroya (Lawless, Margin Call, The Words) and David Dickson are producing the Benaroya Pictures production. Joe Jenckes (Margin Call) is executive producing with Dawson, Cotty Chubb, Arianne Fraser and Miscellaneous Entertainment’s D. Todd Shepherd and George Waud. Parts Per Billion is expected to premiere in 2014.
Kilian is also co-scoring the new ABC comedy Trophy Wife. The show is created by Emily Halpern & Sarah Haskins and stars Malin Akerman, Bradley Whitford, Marcia Gay Harden, Michaela Watkins, Natalie Morales, Ryan Scott Lee, Albert Tsai and Bailee Madison. The comedy follows a reformed party girl who finds herself with an insta-family when she falls in love with a successful businessman who has three manipulative kids and two judgmental ex-wives. Halpern and Haskins are also executive producing the ABC Studios production with Lee Eisenberg & Gene Stupnitsky (The Office). Jason Moore who previously collaborated with Kilian on last year’s hit musical comedy Pitch Perfect has directed the pilot episode. Kilian is co-scoring the series with Jake Monaco (Struck by Lightning). Trophy Wife is set to premiere on September 24, 2013 and will air every Tuesday night on ABC. Kilian whose previous feature scoring credits also include Tsotsi, Traitor and Rendition also has the indie drama Beyond Paradise coming up. The film is written and directed J.J. Alani and stars Ryan Guzman, Daphne Zuniga and Spencer Grammer. Baham Ghobadi is producing the Newroz Films production, which is expected to be released in 2014.
