ABKCO Records will release a new soundtrack album for the HBO original series Boardwalk Empire. The album features new recordings from vocalists including Elvis Costello, Neko Case, Patti Smith, Liza Minnelli, Rufus Wainwright, Loudon Wainwright III, St. Vincent, David Johansen, Matt Berninger from The National and more, singing classic songs from the 1920s. Also included are performances by cast members Stephen DeRosa and Margot Bingham. The soundtrack will be released on September 3, 2013 and is now available for pre-order on Amazon. Elektra/Asylum Records has previously released the Volume 1 soundtrack album for the show, which was honored with a Grammy Award. Boardwalk Empire produced by Terence Winter and Martin Scorsese stars Steve Buscemi as Enoch “Nucky” Thompson, Atlantic City’s undisputed czar at a time when Prohibition proved to be a major catalyst. The third season of the series will be released on Blu-ray and DVD on August 20 and the fourth season is set to premiere on September 8.
