grammysTrent Reznor and Atticus Ross have won the Grammy Award in the Best Score Soundtrack for Visual Media category for their music for David Fincher’s The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo starring Rooney Mara. The other nominated composers in the category included John Williams (The Adventures of Tintin), Ludovic Bource (The Artist), Howard Shore (Hugo), Hans Zimmer (The Dark Knight Rises) and Austin Wintory (Journey). In the Best Song Written For Motion Picture, Television Or Other Visual Media, T Bone Burnett, Taylor Swift, John Paul White & Joy Williams were honored for the original song Safe & Sound performed by Swift & The Civil Wars from the hit movie The Hunger Games. In the Best Compilation Soundtrack Album for Visual Media category, the soundtrack for Woody Allen’s Midnight in Paris released by Madison Gate Records received the Grammy Award.     This seems wrong due to other great scores nominated. I mean, it’s pretty weird to say that they deserve it unless we are talking about the (over)hypes.

      Most of Grammy nominees are score made between 12-18 months before the awards.
