Ilan Eshkeri is set to score the upcoming drama The Invisible Woman. The film marks the second directorial effort of Ralph Fiennes following last year’s Coriolanus, which also featured music by Eshkeri. The Invisible Woman stars Fiennes, Felicity Jones, Kristin Scott Thomas and Tom Hollander. The film is based on Claire Tomalin’s biography of Nelly Ternan and details the story of the secret mistress with whom Charles Dickens had a decade-long relationship. Abi Morgan (Shame, The Iron Lady) has written the screenplay and Stewart Mackinnon (the upcoming Quartet), Gabrielle Tana (The Duchess, Coriolanus), Christian Baute (Funny Games) and Carolyn Marks Blackwood are producing the film. Eshkeri is reportedly also writing on-screen music for the project, which is currently being shot in the UK. No release date has been set yet.
Eshkeri’s other upcoming movies also include the romantic comedy Austenland starring Keri Russell and the animated film Justin and the Knights of Valour.
