BAFTA longlist for ‘Best Music’ announced

The British Academy of Television and Film Arts has announced the longlists for this year’s British Academy Film Awards, with 15 entries per category. Here are the contenders for the ‘Best Music’ category:

  • Alice in Wonderland (Danny Elfman)
  • Biutiful (Gustavo Santaollala)
  • Brighton Rock (Martin Phipps)
  • Despicable Me (Pharrell Williams & Heitor Pereira)
  • The Ghost Writer (Alexandre Desplat)
  • The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo (Jacob Groth)
  • Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 1 (Alexandre Desplat)
  • How to Train Your Dragon (John Powell)
  • Inception (Hans Zimmer)
  • The King’s Speech (Alexandre Desplat)
  • Made in Dagenheim (David Arnold)
  • Never Let Me Go (Rachel Portman)
  • The Social Network (Trent Reznor & Atticus Ross)
  • The Town (Harry Gregson-Williams & David Buckley)

The final five nominations will be announced on January 18 and the winners will be unveiled on February 13 at London’s Royal Opera House.
