WaterTower Music will release the official soundtrack album for the Shaft sequel. The album features the film’s original score composed by Christopher Lennertz (Lost in Space, Horrible Bosses, Agent Carter, Ride Along, Think Like a Man). Also included is the original song Too Much Shaft performed by Quavo (with Saweetie) (already available to download here), as well as tracks by Switch, Souls of Mischief, Rick James, Das EFX, Quincy Jones, The Math Club, James Brown, Kris P., Caleborate and Bobby Bland. The soundtrack will be released on June 7 and is now available for pre-order on Amazon. Shaft is directed by Tim Story and stars Samuel L. Jackson, Jesse T. Usher, Regina Hall, Alexandra Shipp, Matt Lauria, Titus Welliver, Cliff “Method Man” Smith and Richard Roundtree.

Christopher Lennertz to Score Tim Story’s ‘Shaft’ Sequel
Christopher Lennertz is reteaming with director Tim Story on the upcoming Shaft sequel. The film stars Samuel L. Jackson & Jessie T. Usher as father and son, as well as Richard Roundtree, Alexandra Shipp, Regina Hall, Avan Jogia and Method Man. The movie centers on the young and old Shafts as they are are forced to team up. Jackson is reprising his role from John Singleton’s 2000 Shaft movie, which was scored by David Arnold and featured Isaac Hayes’ classic theme from the 1971 original film.
Christopher Lennertz to Score ‘Michelle Darnell’
Christopher Lennertz revealed in a recent interview with Skewed n’ Reviewed that he is set to score the upcoming comedy Michelle Darnell. The film is directed by Ben Falcone (Tammy) and stars Melissa McCarthy, Peter Dinklage, Kristen Bell, Kathy Bates and Timothy Simons. The movie follows a titan of industry, who is sent to prison after she’s caught for insider trading and later emerges ready to rebrand herself as America’s latest sweetheart. McCarthy and Falcone have also written the screenplay with Steve Mallory. The film will be produced by McCarthy and Falcone through their On the Day production company, alongside Will Ferrell, Chris Henchy & Adam McKay (Anchorman, Talladega Nights, The Other Guys) for Gary Sanchez Productions.
‘Think Like a Man’ Score Album Released
Madison Gate Records has released a soundtrack album featuring the scores for the hit comedies Think Like a Man and its sequel Think Like a Man Too. The album features the films’ original music composed by Christopher Lennertz (Identity Thief, Horrible Bosses, Ride Along, Revolution, Supernatural). ‘Ride Along’ Soundtrack Details
Back Lot Music and Varese Sarabande will release a soundtrack album for the action comedy Ride Along. The album features the film’s original score composed by Christopher Lennertz (Revolution, Identity Thief, Horrible Bosses). The soundtrack will be released digitally on January 14, 2014 by Back Lot Music and is now available for pre-order on Amazon. Ride Along is directed by Tim Story and stars Ice Cube, Kevin Hart, John Leguizamo, Bruce McGill, Tika Sumpter, Bryan Callen and Laurence Fishburne. The comedy follows a fast-talking guy who joins his girlfriend’s brother, a hot-tempered cop, to patrol the streets of Atlanta and gets entangled in the officer’s latest case. The movie will be released nationwide on January 17 by Universal Pictures.
‘Kevin Hart: Let Me Explain’ Soundtrack Details
Entertainment One will release a soundtrack album for the comedy Kevin Hart: Let Me Explain. The album features the songs from the film by artists including Erick Sermon, Snoop Dogg & Method Man, Lou Armstrong, American Antagonist, Lisette Love, Driicky Graham, Maino and The Mafia, Krayzie Bone, Sean Hines, Finatticz and Doeshun. Kevin Hart: Let Me Explain is directed by Tim Story (Fantastic Four) and chronicles Hart’s 2012 Let Me Explain concert tour, which spanned 10 countries and 80 cities, and generated over $32 million in ticket sales. Christopher Lennertz to Return for ‘Think Like a Man Too’
Christopher Lennertz is set to reunite with director Tim Story on the upcoming romantic comedy sequel Think Like a Man Too. The film stars La La Anthony, Michael Ealy, Jerry Ferrara, Meagan Good, Regina Hall, Kevin Hart, Taraji P. Henson, Terrence J, Jenifer Lewis, Romany Malco, Gary Owen and Gabrielle Union who reprise their roles from the original Think Like a Man film and follows the couples on a trip to Las Vegas for a wedding. They are joined by new cast members Adam Brody, Wendi McLendon-Covey and David Walton. Keith Merryman & David A. Newman (Friends with Benefits) who penned the original film are returning to write the sequel’s script based on Steve Harvey’s book Act Like a Lady, Think Like a Man.

Christopher Lennertz has been hired to score the upcoming action comedy Ride Along. The film is directed by Tim Story (Fantastic Four, Barbershop) and stars Kevin Hart, Ice Cube, John Leguizamo, Bruce McGill, Laurence Fishburne, Tika Sumpter, Bryan Callen and Jay Pharoah. The movie centers around a high school security guard and aspiring police officer who must survive a nightmarish 24-hour patrol “ride along” with his fiancee’s cop brother who disapproves of the marriage. Ice Cube and Matt Alvarez (Are We There Yet?) are producing the project for CubeVision, alongside Will Packer (Obsessed, Stomp the Yard) for Rainforest Films and Larry Brezner (Arthur, The ‘Burbs).

Henson, Meagan Good, Gabrielle Union, Jerry Ferrara, Regina Hall, Terrence J. and Romany Malco. The Screen Gems Production is based on Steve Harvey’s book Act Like a Lady, Think Like a Man and adapted for the screen by Keith Merryman & David A. Newman (Friends with Benefits). In the film, four interconnected and diverse friends have their love lives shaken up after the women they are pursuing buy Harvey’s book and start taking his advice to heart. Will Packer (Obsessed, Takers) is producing the project. Story’s previous musical collaborators include John Ottman (Fantastic Four), Christophe Beck (Taxi) and Terence Blanchard (Barbershop).
