Netflix Music has released a soundtrack album for the German Netflix original film 23 000 Lives (23 000 Leben). The album features the movie’s original music composed by Academy Award winner Volker Bertelmann (All Quiet on the Western Front, Conclave, Lion, Adrift, Pressure, Dune: Prophecy, The Day of the Jackal, The Amateur, A House of Dynamite, One Life). The soundtrack is now available to stream/download on Amazon (and any other major digital music services), where you can also check out the track list. The drama tells the true story of a group of young people who set sail for the Mediterranean to save the lives of refugees — a mission that puts their ideas of law and justice to the test.

Volker Bertelmann to Score Markus Goller’s Untitled Netflix Film Inspired by the German NGO Jugend Rettet
Volker Bertelmann (All Quiet on the Western Front, Lion, Hotel Mumbai, Patrick Melrose, The Old Guard, Adrift, One Life, Ammonite) has been hired to score an upcoming German Netflix original film inspired by the true story of the German NGO Jugend Rettet and its ship, the Iuventa. The movie is directed by Markus Goller (My Brother Simple) and stars Louis Hofmann, Mala Emde, Katharina Stark, Frederick Lau, Trevor Magaya, Maria Dragus, Kathy Etoa, Saibon Wang, Felice, Joone Dankou, Luisa-Céline Gaffron, Merlin von Garnier and Omid Memar. The movie chronicles the journey of a group of young Berliners who – unable to stand by and watch as countless refugees lose their lives attempting to reach Europe by sea – launch a crowdfunding campaign to buy an old ship and embark on a mission to save thousands of people.
