The limited edition 2-CD set features selections of the show’s original score composed and performed by Fred Mollin (Friday the 13th Part VIII: Jason Takes Manhattan , Friday the 13th Part VII: The New Blood, Fast Company, Screwballs II), including a remastered version of the original soundtrack album (released by GNP Crescendo) on the first disc and previously unreleased music from two major episodes (Coven of Darkness and The Prophecies) on the second disc. Remastered & Expanded ‘The Next Karate Kid’ & ‘Friday the 13th’ Soundtrack Albums Announced
La-La Land Records has announced a new soundtrack album for the 1994 martial arts movie The Next Karate Kid directed by Christopher Cain and starring Noriyuki “Pat” Morita, Hilary Swank and Michael Ironside. The album features the expanded and original score from the Columbia Pictures production composed by Academy Award winner Bill Conti (Rocky, Masters of the Universe, The Right Stuff, For Your Eyes Only, The Thomas Crown Affair) who also scored the first three installments in The Karate Kid series, including previously unreleased additional music tracks and alternate cues. The CD, which is limited to 3,000 copies, will be available to order on the label’s official website this coming Tuesday, November 30. La-La Land Records has announced a new soundtrack album for the 1989 slasher movie Friday the 13th Part VIII: Jason Takes Manhattan directed by Rob Hedden and starring Jensen Daggett, Scott Reeves, Peter Mark Richman and Kane Hodder. The album features the film’s original music composed and performed by Fred Mollin (Fast Company, Screwballs II) who also co-scored the previous installment in the series (Friday the 13th Part VII: The New Blood) with Harry Manfredini. Also included are four previously unreleased songs from the movie from Mollin’s and songwriter Stan Meissner’s personal archives. Waxwork Records has announced the world premiere release of the complete score for the 1988 horror sequel Friday the 13th Part VII: The New Blood directed by John Carl Buechler and starring Lar Park Lincoln, Kevin Blair, Susan Blu, Terry Kiser and Kane Hodder. The album features the film’s original music composed by Harry Manfredini (House, Wishmaster, Swamp Thing) who composed the music for all the previous movies in the franchise and Fred Mollin (Fast Company, Screwballs II) who also scored Friday the 13th Part VIII: Jason Takes Manhattan.
